Built on a Mauser 98 action which has been upgraded with near full coverage oak leaf engraving on the receiver and bottom metal with a gold inlaid lion on the left of the chamber, a leopard on the right, and a lion on the floorplate. The receiver is signed "ROY VAIL" on the rail beside the bolt. Fixed rear sight with ramped beaded blade front sight. Nicely figured, checkered pistol grip stock with blue steel grip cap, cheekpiece, and rubber recoil pad. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection

Excellent as custom embellished by Roy Vail, retaining 99% blue finish, light handling evidence, some oxidation on the bolt, and sharp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent.
