Originally manufactured and proofed prior to World War I, this Luger was subsequently reworked for commercial sale in the 1920's, likely in Switzerland. DWM pre-World War I military proofs are visible on the right of the chamber and breech block. The toggle was originally marked with the DWM monogram but was subsequently matted with punch dots, and the top of the chamber is marked with the Swiss cross in a sunburst. "GERMANY" export mark on the left of the frame, full serial number on the front of the frame and left of the chamber, and partial serial number "61" is visible on various small parts. Fitted with a wide trigger, grip safety, checkered grips, stock lug, and a nickeled magazine with a wooden base marked "GERMANY".

Very fine, retains 85% plus of the refinished blue and 60% of the straw colors with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on high spots and edges. The grips are very fine with a few minor blemishes and flat spots in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically functions, but the grip safety is extended rearward.
