Description:

An estimated 25,000 to 30,000 Model 1875 revolvers were manufactured from 1875 to 1889 and were Remington's first main attempt to compete with Colt and Smith & Wesson in the "Army" revolver market. This one has the standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers hidden inside on the trigger guard, loading gate, and grip frame. The assembly number "264" is visible on the grip frame, inside of the grips, and rear of the cylinder. The outside of the left grip is marked "44" and the inside of the right grip is hand carved "M" and "J.T." Includes a tooled leather holster featuring a cowboy on horseback and a gun belt with cartridge loops.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 30% plus original blue finish, primarily on the ejector rod housing, and faint traces of case color patterns on the hammer with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina. The front sight has been professionally restored. The reoiled grips are also very good with some minor handling marks, a minor chip absent from the toe of the right panel. Mechanically excellent. The holster and belt are also very good showing generally some mild wear.
