Description:

Manufactured circa 1805. The lock is marked "TOWER" behind the hammer followed by a large "crown/GR" ahead of the hammer. The left rear of the barrel is marked with two British proof marks, and the base of the belt hook is marked with a "crown/6". Barrel made without sight provisions. Full walnut stock with a brass trigger guard and fittings, and a 7 1/2 inch iron belt hook mounted on to the brass left side plate. The right side wrist area of the wood is marked with a "crown (faint)/broad arrow/1805", right side grip area marked "broad arrow/BO", and above the left rear trigger guard area is two "crown/2" proofs. With a wooden ramrod with a swollen brass tip.

Rating Definition:

Good, with extensive scattered moderate pitting on the barrel and belt hook, edge wear, and clear markings. The revarnished wood is very good with faint, but legible markings, minor dings throughout and a chip at the high rear of the lock. Mechanically fine.
