Description:

Pair of Kent & Co. London engraved flintlock pocket pistols. Lock marked "Kent & Co./LONDON" on both pistols and script "63 New Bond Street" on top of the silver accented barrels. Avery & Vincent Kent listed at 63 bond street 1821-1826, and succeeded by Thomas & Co. at the same address 1827-1829. Both pistols have engraving on the tang, lock, and trigger guard with pineapple finial. Both pistols have a horn end cap with wood rod below the barrel. Included wood felt lined case is engraved "Lanelay" on the outside brass handle insert and wearing a Collins retailer trade label under the lid (James Collins 1800-1854). Includes rod, flask marked "DIXON & SONS/PATENT", bullet mold, loose rounds, oiler, and patches. Cased with and paired with "B" gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with a lightly aged patina, some scattered light flash pitting on the barrel, and sharp markings. Wood is fine with some scattered light dents and scratches, light crazing of the varnish on the left flat, and nice checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with a lightly aged patina, some scattered light flash pitting on the barrel, and sharp markings. Wood is fine with some scattered light dents and scratches, a small chip on the right front ahead of the wedge, a crack on the left front, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
