Ketland flintlock continental pistols engraved with "LIEUT.t COL.l WALLER PHILLIPS" on the top of the barrel of each gun. No information has currently been found on Waller Phillips. Both pistols with "W KETLAND" marked engraved locks. William Ketland was an active Birmingham Gunmaker starting from 1802-1807, then rebranded his business to "William Ketland & Co." from 1808-1831; with these pistols marked in the earlier style. Each pistol has a sightless smoothbore barrel. Pineapple finial on the engraved trigger guard. Wood ramrods. Stocks with checkered grips. Includes embroidered double holster hand marked "3726" on the back side.

Fair, with scattered pitting, heavy brown patina, wear, light areas on the barrel and lock from cleaning, and handling marks. Wood is good with a crack on the right front, left middle, and above the rear lock screw, with scattered dents, scratches, chips and repairs around the wedges. Mechanically excellent.
