Description:

This 19th century double rifle is signed "T. AIREY MAKER" on the rib and "T-AIREY" on the locks and has "K," Birmingham proofs, and the serial number on the bottom of the barrels. The rifle also features a dovetailed blade front sight, notch and folding ladder rear sight, scroll engraving, a running stag on the right lock, a leopard on the left lock, a reposed stag on the patch box, blank silver wrist escutcheon, sling swivels on the mid ramrod pipe and bottom of the buttstock, checkered forend and pistol grip, checkered steel buttplate, and 14 1/8 inch length of pull. Rating Definition:

Fine as restored with 85% plus brown, casehardened, and blue finish remaining, some patches of minor pitting, crisp engraving, worn checkering on the buttplate, and minor overall wear. The stock has crisp checkering, attractive figure smooth oiled finish, and minor wear. Mechanically fine.
