Description:

This Schuetzen rifle built on a Martini style action features dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear sight on the fluted octagon barrel that measures approximately 7.65 mm. The action, lever, and Swiss buttplate feature near full coverage oak leaf scroll engraving on a punchdot background with a ribbon on both sides of the action reading "RUD. PFENNINGER" on the right side and "IN STAFA." on the left. The action is mounted on a checkered schnabel forend and lightly figured buttstock with checkered wrist. The right side of the buttstock has an inscription plate that reads "Dr. Bertheau". The front face of receiver and bottom of barrel are both numbered. Provenance: Firearms for Freedom Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 95% original blue finish on the barrel and attractive grey appearance on the receiver with handling marks and crisp engraving. Wood is also fine with dings, scratches and some scattered worn checkering. Mechanically fine.
