Manufactured in 1910. Blued, Krupp Fluid Steel barrels with dual white bead sights on the matted, concave solid rib, chambers marked and measured at 2 3/4 inches with ejectors, and standard “FOX/PROOF” marking on both barrels. The barrels are marked “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and “A. H. FOX GUN Co. PHILA. PA.” on the right and left barrels respectively as well as "12 GA. - 2 3/4 CHAMBER" added by the Savage factory and a three inch wedge of floral scrollwork at either breech. The casehardened boxlock action features attractive floral scroll engraving over a punchdot background, “ANSLEY H. FOX” banners on either side, and three game scenes. The left shows a pair of pheasant in a field, the underside shows a pair of setters on point, and the right displays two woodcocks. Double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. The stock is an excellent later replacement, likely done by the Savage factory. Beautifully figured, fancy fluer-de-lis checkered walnut pistol grip stock with carved and checkered flat, blank inscription oval in the grip cap, and checkered bare butt on the wooden stock extension. The beavertail forearm is equally attractive and features a multi-point checkering, a Deeley latch release, engraved fittings, and an ebony tip insert. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter 9 inches from the breech .727/.727 inches; choke constriction .038/.037 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.028 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 12 oz.

Very fine, retaining 99% Savage factory blue on the barrels and strong traces of the original case colors on the action in the protected areas with the balance turning a silver/grey patina. There is some light pitting under the blue on the left barrel near the breech. The replacement stock is very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. The forearm also has sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
