Manufactured in Japan between 1983 and 1989 as a faithful reproduction of the beloved Parker Shotgun and subsequently upgraded to its current A1-Special configuration by Master Engraver Walter Kolouch. Blued steel barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted, solid, concave rib which is marked "Parker Reproduction by WINCHESTER East Alton IL. U.S.A. Made in Japan", a pair of 1 inch floral wedges and single gold bands at the either breech, "1" on the forend lug, 3 inch chambers, and chokes marked "MOD"/FULL". Casehardened boxlock action with carved fences, full coverage floral scroll engraving, and four gold inlaid game bird scenes. The left side has a pair of pigeons, the right has a pair of grouse, the underside displays a woodcock, and the triggerguard shows a mallard. The upper tang is marked "ENG. W. KOLOUCH". Single selective gold plated trigger and automatic tang safety. Highly figured, fancy checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock featuring raised relief fluer-de-lis accented flats, contrasting wood grip cap with blank inscription oval, and engraved skeletonized buttplate with checkered bare butt. Includes extra matching numbered 26 inch barrel set with "2" on the forend lug, matching engraving and gold bands, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked as "Q1"/"Q2". Also included is a leather bound takedown case with canvas cover that houses both barrel sets, two snap caps, oiler, and cleaning tools as well as original boxes for the gun and extra barrels. Barrel measurements for set "2" (R/L): bore 9 inches from the breech .619/.619 inches; choke constriction .003/.007 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.031 inches. Excellent as upgraded by Master Engraver Walter Kolouch, retaining 99% dull blue finish on the barrels with 99% vibrant case colors on the action showing limited handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few tiny scratches and sharp checkering. The case and extra barrel set are excellent and the boxes are very good. Mechanically excellent.
