Manufactured in 1937. The included factory letter confirms the Super Match configuration with the grips not listed, as well as shipment to Phil B. Bekeart Company in San Francisco on 22 December 1937. Period installed (King style) blade front sight with mirror reflector and flat top square notch adjustable rear sight on the slide marked "SUPER MATCH" above the caliber marking on the right and the two-line Colt address and patent dates on the left. Blue barrel with a factory polished chamber. Short checkered milled trigger, checkered magazine catch, slide stop, wide hammer, long grip safety, and an arched checkered mainspring housing. Fitted with fully checkered grips and a two-tone "COLT SUPER/38 AUTO" marked magazine.

Fine, retains 50% plus original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey or plum brown patina, primarily on handling areas and high spots. The modified replacement grips are very good with a hairline crack in the left panel and a few minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
