Manufactured in 1937. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line Colt address and patent markings and Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side of the slide has the standard markings including "ACE" within a diamond. The left side of the trigger guard is marked "X/VP", the right "38", and the serial number is on the right of the frame. Fitted with blade and adjustable notch sights, short checkered trigger, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, fully checkered grips, and a two-tone magazine with Ace markings on the base. Includes a George Lawrence Co. leather holster.

Excellent, retains 90% plus of the bright original blue finish with the balance a smooth grey patina, primarily on the grip strap and on leading edges in the form of holster type wear. The grips are very fine with a flat spot of checkering on the top of the left panel and a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine.
