Description:

The Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 was a modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian army. These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 is nearly devoid of markings. It was only ever marked on the slide with the caliber and model markings with the serial number "6/5" supposedly being marked after World War II for record keeping purposes in Norway. The number "374" on the bottom of the barrel is the only one found on any part of the gun. The included informational plaque states this gun is a "Lunch Box Special". These were guns manufactured during German occupation outside the factory for resistance groups across Europe. The plaque states this pistol made its way to Paris in order to aid the French resistance in their efforts against the German army.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 90% plus original phosphate finish with handling marks. Mainspring housing is faded to brown with a weak spring in the grip safety. Grips are very fine with spots of softened checkering and dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
