Description:

Remington manufactured only about 2,000 Model 1890 Single Action Army revolvers from 1891 to 1894. The Model 1890 Single Action revolver was a competitor to the Colt Single Action Army. Examples of the Remington Model 1890 Single Action Army are scarce and very desirable. The revolver has a high polish blue finish, the hammer casehardened and the trigger is niter blue. The barrel is fitted with a nickel-silver front sight blade. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION.N.Y.". The caliber designation, "44 C.F.W." (44-40) is stamped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder, and "WK" has been scratched into the frame behind the caliber marking and a "#" has been scratched into the frame on the lower right side ahead of the cylinder with the letter "K" on the opposite side. The serial number, "330" is located on the left side of the butt underneath the grip panel. Fitted with hard rubber checkered grips with the "RA" monogram at the top and lanyard stud and ring on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 50% plus original blue finish with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance and some lightly scratched initials (see above). The hammer shows 40% original case colors with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The grips are excellent with a couple of minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
