Description:

This small pocket revolver is a fine copy of the Smith & Wesson First Model First Type .22 Revolver, and production was eventually halted by a lawsuit. However, those produced were very well made and sold readily. This example has the standard scroll engraving on the side flats of the barrel and a small area on the top of the grip strap behind the hammer. On the top of the barrel at the breech it is marked in a tiny arch motif, "MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS/MANUFG./CO./N.Y." The serial number is marked on the bottom grip strap under the left grip panel, and the matching partial serial is marked on the flat in front of the cylinder. Under the right grip panel at the bottom it is marked "TS" and "K". It features a seven shot cylinder, blade front sight with a notch on the cylinder catch serving as a rear sight. Includes an original two piece factory box with a label featuring an image of the gun and manufacture information on top.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol has 30% of the original blue finish on the barrel with an otherwise gray/brown patina and 95% of the untouched original silver plating has an aged patina with small amounts of brass visible on the top of the grip strap. The cylinder has a golden brown patina with some rotation marks. There are some light scratches and marks overall. The grips are very fine with some minor dings and marks. Mechanically excellent.
