Blued steel barrels with dovetailed blade front and two position (100 and 200 yard/meters) rear sights on the matted solid rib, "AD. JANSEN FABANT D'ARMES DE S. M .LE ROI" and "27 RUE DE LAMADELEINE, BRUXELLES" marked on the right and left barrels respectively, and standard Belgian proofs on the flats. The casehardened back action features scroll engraving, "AD. JANSEN/BRUXELLES" on either lock, engraved hammers, rotary underlever, and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and rotary latch and pistol grip stock with engraved blue grip cap, cheekpiece, and checkered bare butt with heel and toe plates. The chamber measurements indicate that this rifle is chambered in .500 Black Powder Express; however, there are no caliber markings on the rifle. Very fine, retaining 80% original blue with some thinning, 80% original case colors with some silvering, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with scattered small dings and scratches and worn but well-defined checkering. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
