Blued "SPEZIAL-GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL" marked barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, standard Merkel markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and choke constrictions of .003/.006 inches. The scalloped, bright finished, sideclipped boxlock action features a pair of pheasants in a field on the left a trio of grouse on the right all surrounded by floral scrollwork. The action is signed "RD" at the left rear. Double triggers, bushed firing pins, and automatic tang mounted safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with serrated Merkel buttplate. Includes original box. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 1 oz.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and bright coin finishes, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the forend and stock. Box is very good. Mechanically excellent.
