Description:

Manufactured in November/December of 1941, this M1 Garand would have made it to the U.S. military's inventories right after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the formal entry of the U.S. into one of the most decisive conflicts the world has ever seen. Blade front and peep rear sights, with a visible set screw on the former and a set of early pattern adjustment drums ("BATTLE RANGE" windage and "LEFT/LEFT" elevation with closed arrows and locking bar) on the latter. Fitted with a "SA 11-41" barrel, "SA" bolt, trigger guard, trigger housing, hammer, safety and uncut operating rod, and a very rare "keystone" profile operating rod spring is present. The stock is faintly marked "S.A./G.H.S." and "crossed cannons" on the left, with a circled serifed "P" on the wrist, and a checkered steel buttplate with oiler. Provenance: The Allan Cors Collection

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 30% of the original parkerized finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting, mostly on the operating rod. The stacking swivel has been removed. The heavily worn wood is good with some minor dings and scratches throughout and faint markings. Mechanically excellent. This M1 obviously saw action in World War II!
