Description:

Used by the Canadians as a main-line infantry rifle and acquired by the Americans as a training weapon. Hooded blade front and folding peep rear sight, with "ROSS RIFLE CO. QUEBEC CANADA. 1905./PATENTED." on the left side of the receiver. The U.S. Army ordnance bomb is stamped behind the trigger guard along with the number "16001". The right side of the butt stock is stamped with numerous issue and inspection markings". Includes a knife bayonet and scabbard.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish with scattered handling marks, and patches of light spotting. Wood is fine with handling marks, dings and scratches throughout, a crack on the forend just ahead of the receiver, and a splice near the front barrel band. Mechanically excellent.
