Description:

The Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian army. These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 features a slide dated "1945" on the right side. The left side of the slide is marked with the later model 1914 caliber, model, and serial number marking with the Kongsberg crest and no German occupation era markings. Inspection mark under the date and behind the rear sight. Matching serial numbers found on frame, slide, trigger, safety, mainspring housing, grip safety, barrel, and slide release. This pistol is pictured and mentioned by serial number on page 131 of "Kongberg-Colten" by Karl Egil Hanevik. Includes a plaque stating the "3" appears to be an "8" due to a factory error where the first "3" was stamped in reverse (also discussed on page 131).

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 98% original phosphate finish with limited handling marks and spots of slightly worn checkering on the grips. Magazine follower is worn and does not reliably engage the last round hold open, which resolved itself when tested with other magazines, otherwise mechanically excellent.
