Bergmann Number 2 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Case and Accessories

Developed in the 1890s, the Bergman Number 2 was among the first successful semi-automatic pistols. Dovetailed blade front and notch rear sights, with a set of "crown/crown/U" proofs on the barrel and frame, the Gaggenau/V.C. Schilling "mountain man" logo on the left side of the magazine, and "PATENT/BREVETE/S.G.D.G" on the left side of the frame below the barrel. The safety lever is finished in blue, with other small parts showing a fine straw color. Fitted with a lanyard staple and fine hard rubber grips with "B" imprints at the top. The included hardwood case is green felt lined with a padded white cushion lid, with spaces for the pistol as well as the included cleaning rod, screwdriver, clip loader and clip. ConditionFine, with 60% of the original blue finish, which is streaked with a brown patina, along with mild spotting, bright edge wear and light handling marks. 30% of the original straw color is present, with a smooth gray patina and minor spotting on the remainder. The left grip panel is chipped at the top front corner, otherwise the grips are fine with mild wear. The case shows wear and tear appropriate to age. Mechanically fine.
