The iconic five-pointed law enforcement star design is silver plated, was worn by the marshal of a city (Kansas City) rich in cowboy heritage, and is marked “PETTIBONE Co. CINN.” on the back. The Pettibone Co. dates back to the Civil War era as a manufacturer of Union hats, uniforms and buttons.
