"Fürst/Löwenstein/seinem/G. Truchsess" (Prince/Löwenstein/his/G. Steward) is marked on the German silver escutcheon on the top of the wrist. The prince would be either Prince Adolf or Prince Wilhelm of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg. It has a bead front sight, silver banded breech, eagle or similar birds for hammers, "G.M. Funck" in silver inlay on the right lock, "in Suhl" in silver inlay on the left lock, scroll and border engraving, a dog and bird scene on the trigger guard bow, checkered forend and wrist, patch box, cheek rest, and raised relief carved fox and rabbit scene with detailed foliage and textured background on the left side of the butt.
