Description:

Manufactured in 1912 as a Third Model 1873 saddle ring carbine. It has standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Fitted with blade front, folding ladder rear, and tang mounted peep sights, as well as a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the carbine in .32 W.C.F. was received at the warehouse on 25 March 1913 and shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis on 3 November 1913.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 30% plus of the original blue finish, primarily on the barrel and magazine, with the balance a mottled brown-grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The refinished wood is good with a stabilized crack near the upper tang running the length of the right of the buttstock and part of the left and otherwise some scattered minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
