Manufactured in the 1880s with total production estimated at a few thousand. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, barrel and cylinder. The extra 3 1/2 inch barrel is also numbered to the gun. Both barrels are stamped with the two-line legend. The left side of the frame is stamped "38 CAL." The hammer has a folding spur. The grips are period replacement non-factory grips. Comes with a rare factory box numbered to the gun on the bottom and featuring an end label listing a 3 inch extra barrel.

Excellent, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish with a light cylinder drag line and some minor handling and storage marks. 97% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The extra barrel retains 99% original nickel finish with some minor handling marks. Both barrel front sights have been shortened. The grips are fine with typical fine hairline cracking on the bottom and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some minor wear and most of the end label remaining.
