JOHNSON/MIDDN CONN/1841" on the center of the lock, small inspection marks, and "JJC" (John J. Cornwell) and "WAT" (William A. Thornton) cartouches on the left stock flat. "GDM" (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the lower left of the stock above the pommel cap. Provenance: The George Moller Collection

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine with strong patterns of original case colors on the lock and upper tang, bright iron surfaces, gray and brown patina on the balance, some minor pitting, light wear on the frizzen, and minor overall wear. The stock is excellent with attractive grains, defined edges, a few minor handling marks, and crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
