Description:

Manufactured from 1872 to 1874. The Gustave Young factory engraving consists of floral scrollwork on a punch dot background covering 90% of the surface. The barrel has the one-line rollmark ending with the 1869 patent date. Matching assembly number on the cylinder, barrel and barrel latch (grips could not be removed to check grip frame). The butt has provision for a lanyard ring (filler screw). Provenance: The Dr. Gerald Klaz Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine as Goustave Young factory engraved, retaining 98% factory reapplied nickel plating. The engraving is crisp. The slight age shrunken grips are also very fine with some minor handling marks, a few age lines and attractive color. Mechanically needs adjustment.
