Excellent, retaining 95% plus original nickel, light handling evidence, some areas showing some flaking, and some minor frosting. The box is very fine with some minor wear. Mechanically excellent.
The included factory letter states that this revolver was shipped from the factory on July 9, 1902 the Marcus Hartley Co. of New York. It further states that the revolver was likely engraved while with the retailer or when it was returned to the factory as indicated by the "7-35" return date and the star on the butt. The underside of the barrel is inscribed "C. J. O'NEILL/CHIEF OF POLICE/BAYONNE. N. J." Some biographical information on O'Neill is included. Provenance: The Roger Muckerheide Collection
