Description:

Only 3,035 First Model Schofield revolvers were manufactured, all in 1875. 3,000 were purchased by the U.S. Government for use in the West, 35 were sold on the civilian market. Many were altered and used by Wells, Fargo & Co. This example has "US" marked on the butt, cylinder numbered to a different gun ("6653"), and U.S. Ordnance stamps "L" and "P" on the underside of the barrel lug. This revolver is from the collection of world famous American country singer and song writer Hank Williams Jr. and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming his ownership. Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 80% reapplied blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grips are also fine with minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
