Lot 3430: 20 Gauge Wilhelm Collath Patent Boxlock Underlever Drilling

Blued Excelsior steel barrels with beaded blade front sight and flip up rear sight, "WITTENER-EXCELSIOR" on both barrels, 3 inch shotgun chambers with single extractor for all barrels, and standard German proofs. The casehardened action features fine scroll engraving, double triggers, rifle/shotgun selector switch, and is marked "PATENT W. COLLATH" and "FRANKFURT A.O." on the left and right respectively. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece. Includes a leather sling.

Very fine, retaining 98% reapplied blue on the barrels, traces of the original case colors on the receiver, some light spotting in areas, and mild handling evidence. The wood is very good with scattered dings and scratches and some worn and some crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
