Manufactured in 1948 without sights on the heavy barrel, fitted with two scope blocks as well as a dovetailed front sight base at the muzzle. Smooth walnut pistol grip stock with sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate. Includes Winchester wooden shipping crate with end label showing a faded serial number that appears to match the gun and confirming the lack of sights and the heavy barrel. The lid of the crate is absent.

Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish, minor handling evidence, and a tiny spot of white residue on the underside of the barrel. The stock is also excellent with scattered pressure dents, some scratches, and a chip at the left forend screw escutcheon. The crate is very good with the aforementioned absent lid. Mechanically excellent.
