Description:

Manufactured in 1943 with standard markings as well as the rare and desirable "U.S. PROPERTY" marking on the right side of the frame. It is fitted with blade front and flat top notch rear sights, and checkered grips with Colt medallions. There is a length of copper wire wrapped around the frame and slide through the trigger guard with a lead seal marked "U.S." on one side and with an ordnance bomb on the other. This pistols serial number falls very close to another identified General Officer's pistol, serial number 136546. Includes a hand numbered to match Kraft style box and an extra magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered small patches of plum patina/very light surface pitting, primarily on the frame just above the trigger. The bottom of the frame around the butt has some repetitive deep nicks that have been touched up with cold blue. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with some mild wear and a few tears visible on the seams of the lid.
