This is a solid representative example of an obviously battle used World War II M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle. Manufactured in August of 1941, Garands that were in the U.S. inventory before America's formal entry into World War II are often difficult to find in any condition, having seen hard use in one of the most critical conflicts in the history of the nation and the world. Blade front and peep rear sights, with a protective cover on the set screw of the former and a set of early pattern adjustment drums ("BATTLE RANGE" windage and "LEFT/LEFT" elevation with closed arrows) on the latter. Fitted with a "S-A 8-41" barrel, "SA" bolt, trigger guard, trigger housing, hammer, safety and uncut operating rod. Very good, retains 30% of the original parkerized finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina. The heavily worn stock is good with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout and a series of nail-type holes in the right near the wrist. Mechanically excellent. If this M1 Garand could talk, what a story it could tell!
