Winchester Model 50 shotguns were manufactured from 1954-1961 starting with serial number 1,000. This example is a pre-production prototype with the serial number "EXP33A". The shotgun is identified as an experimental Model 50 by serial number in Ronald Stadt's "Winchester Shotguns and Shotshells" on page 137. The gun has dual steel bead sights on the matted vent rib along with standard production markings, 2 3/4 inch chamber marking, and "WS-1" marked choke. The receiver is engraved with a dog and pheasant on the left and three mallards on the right. Lightly figured, checkered forend and pistol grip stock. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 9 oz.

Excellent, retaining 99% original combination blue/anodized finish with minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few minor scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
