Action manufactured in 1883 and subsequently proofed then reproofed between 1954 and 1989 at Birmingham. Blued steel replacement barrels utilizing the original Parker breech and lugs with single steel bead on the smooth, concave solid rib, chambers proved at 2 7/8 inches with single extractor, and choke constriction measured at .042/.041 inches. The barrels bear standard Birmingham proofs and are marked "SLEEVED" next to a script "W.R." on the flats. The casehardened top action features standard C Grade engraving with dog scenes on the left, right, and underside along with sculpted fence, rebounding hammers, and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley release and engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and skeleton buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 10 lbs 2 oz.

Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 98% blue on the barrels, 30% case colors, blued hammers, and overall light handling evidence. The sanded stock is ill-fitting, otherwise very good with light marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
