Description:

Manufactured in 1875 as what appears to be a "105 Dollar" grade gun from the 1874 Parker Catalog. According to page 242 of "The Parker Story" By Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only some 106 guns where built in this period with 32 inch Damascus barrels in 10 gauge across all grades. Single bead sight on the smooth, concave solid rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS MERIDEN CONN DAMASCUS STEEL", chambers measured at 2 5/8 inches with single extractor, and choke constrictions measured at .012/.026 inches. The casehardened underlifter action bears light scroll engraving and features rebounding hammers and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point walnut forend with wedge fastener and round knob pistol grip stock with added hard rubber buttplate. The barrel length, barrel steel, and gauge are confirmed on page 76 of "Parker Gun Identification and Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs 3 oz.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 40% original case colors on the action and a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels with a small spots of cleaned oxidation. The stock is cracked through at the butt and revarnished with some excess glue or varnish on the underside, the pistol grip has been added by inletting it into the stock, otherwise the stock is good with crisp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent.
