Excellent Documented U.S. Springfield Model 1903A1 National Match Bolt Action Rifle

Manufactured in 1930, two pieces of documentation are included with this rifle, a letter from Springfield Research Service and a sales voucher. Both of these documents identify this rifle by serial number as a U.S. Model 1903 A1 National Match Rifle sold via the Director of Civilian Marksmanship to a Harold Dickerson of West Roxbury, Mass., and shipped from Springfield Armory on December 14, 1933. Period records confirm a Harold Dickerson of the same listed address as a competitive shooter active in the 1930s, and a winner of at least one NRA rifle competition; Dickerson passed on in 1959. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights (sans volley notch), with a star gauged "SA/4-31" barrel and a matching electro-penciled serial number on the bolt, which has a "NS" marked handle. The barrel is marked "K/48" and "R17" beneath the forearm. The stock has a "D.A.L." inspector cartouche on the left side, a block "P" on the underside of the wrist and a matching serial number on the stock belly just ahead of the rear sling swivel, and a sharply checkered buttplate. Included with the rifle is an unmarked muzzle protector and a modern plastic case.

ConditionExcellent, with 95% plus original parkerized finish, showing some minor wear and handling marks overall. The bolt shows some minor spotting and bright original polishing. The stock is very fine as reoiled, with some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
