Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Developed by Gabilondo y Urresti (later known by the "Llama" brand name) in 1924, the "Ruby" was named after the Spanish-made French sidearm from World War I, but bears more resemblance to the Colt Government Model in size and function. The Ruby is not a straight copy, instead including features like a captive recoil spring and a linkage-free barrel lug assembly. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights, with "Patent "RUBY' CAL 45" on the left side of the slide, straw finished hammer and trigger, smooth grips and a bottom-mounted magazine catch. The frame is numbered "642", with "175" on the barrel and slide. The included magazine is full blued and unmarked, with a notch in the body for a 1911 pattern magazine catch. Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 95% of the period refinished blue finish, showing a number of light dings and handling marks overall. The left grip panel is missing a screw, otherwise the non-factory replacement grips are very good with light handling marks. The hammer and trigger retain 80% of the bright straw colors, with mild wear. Mechanically excellent.
