Manufactured in 1901. Beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear notch sights, second style barrel inscription, Winchester WP proofs correctly absent, "22 SHORT" caliber marking on top barrel flat at the breech, casehardened second model receiver with hidden locking lugs, blue breech bolt and trigger, casehardened hammer, and standard maker, model, and patent marking on the upper tang. 12 groove slide handle and plain walnut straight grip stock with casehardened steel crescent buttplate. The accompanying factory letter confirms the .22 Short chambering as well as stating the rifle was received in the warehouse on July 15, 1901 and shipped the same day.
Very fine with 85% original blue finish, moderate slide retraction wear visible and some light surface spotting on the edges. The receiver has 70% original vibrant case colors with the balance aged to a dove gray patina with some scattered surface spotting. The wood is also very fine with some small dings and scratches, and mostly gray patina on the casehardened buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
