This Dutch style smoothbore carbine has an unidentified royal cipher in gold inlay with gold supporters on the breech end of the barrel and on the wrist escutcheon. The Damascus barrel also has blade and notch sights and a gold vent liner and two taps on top in front of the rear sight. The lock and iron furniture have primarily light scroll engraving, and the buttplate has a long serpentine finial. The stock has some raised carving at the ramrod entry pipe and barrel tang.

Rating Definition:

Very good as reconverted to flintlock configuration and restocked with a mix of an older refinished brown and natural brown patina along the barrel, tool marks mainly in the breech section, 75% of the mildly worn gold remaining on the breech section, traces of original gold remain in the cipher on the wrist escutcheon which exhibits aged patina on the remaining brass surfaces, mostly dark brown and gray patina on the remaining metal furniture, and mild dings and scratches on the stock along with some faint cracks in the grain and minor flakes. Mechanically fine.
