Description:

The swamped, smoothbore barrel has blade and notch sights and is marked "GW" on the upper left at the breech. The lock has an engraved scene of a hunter taking aim at a stag with his dog behind him. Also features adjustable double set triggers with an ornate rear trigger, and a full-length stock with engraved bone/staghorn nose cap and accents with scroll and floral designs, a lion on the cheek rest, a carved dog and rabbit on the left stock flat, and floral carving along the edge of the butt.

Rating Definition:

Good as likely assembled in the Victorian era with the barrel mostly showing brown patina, dark gray patina on the lock and trigger guard, mild overall wear, and some minor oxidation/pitting. The stock is fair and has moderate insect damage concentrated on the butt, spliced repairs visible mainly on the forend, and general dings and scratches. The lock has not been tested.
