Description:

Manufactured as a faithful reproduction of the beloved Parker shotgun. Single brass bead sight on the solid matte rib, small "1" on the lump, 3 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked "MOD"/"FULL". The casehardened receiver shows the standard DHE grade engraving of hunting dogs on either side and a covey of pheasants on the underside along with "PARKER". Single selective trigger and automatic tang mounted safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and straight pistol grip stock with teardrop flats, blank inscription oval, and engraved skeletonized buttplate around checkered bare butt. Includes a second matching numbered set 26 inch 20 gauge barrels with "2" on the lump and a rare set of original 28 inch 16 gauge barrels manufactured by Krieghoff with matching serial number. According to page 179 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only some 150 of these 16 gauge barrel sets were made by Krieghoff starting in 1994. Another interesting feature of this gun is that it has a "P" serial number prefix, indicating that it was made as a prototype to be distributed amongst those with close ties to the man who made the reproduction happen, Tom Skeuse. Also included with the gun is an original leather bound takedown case with canvas cover that houses the gun, two snap caps, and just one of the two extra barrel sets. Barrel measurements for the 16 gauge set (R/L): bore diameters measured nine inches from the breech both proved at 16.8 mm (.661 inches) and measured .663/.663 inches; choke constriction .009/.018 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.039 inches. Barrel measurements for the 20 gauge set "2" (R/L): bore diameters measured nine inches from the breech .619/.619 inches; choke constriction .011/.019 inches; minimum wall thickness .034/.032 inches. Barrel and stock measurements for the 20 gauge set "1" (R/L): bore diameters measured nine inches from the breech .619/.618 inches; choke constriction .019/.038 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.027 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 9 oz.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish, 80% case colors with the balance an attractive silver, and minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with some dings on the underside of the stock, scattered minor scratches, and sharp checkering. The case is very fine and the extra barrel sets are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
