Description:

Blued Titanic Steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted, concave solid rib, standard markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and choke constrictions of .026/.031 inches. The casehardened boxlock action features standard DH Grade engraving consisting of floral scroll work surrounding game scenes. The game scenes depict a setter in a field on the right, a brood of pheasants in tall grass on the underside, and a pointer in a field on the left. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release. The stock is nicely figured with non-factory fleur-de-lis checkering and modification from a capped pistol grip stock to straight grip, an illegible monogram in the inscription oval, and a Whippet recoil pad. The configuration is confirmed, with the exception of the modified stock, on page 306 of "Parker Gun Identification & Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. Included with the gun is a 1952 dated letter from the factory confirming the grade, chamber length, and 1899 date of manufacture. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 11/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 8 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining 98% reapplied blue on the barrels, a silver patina on the action, applied silver plating to the trigger guard and lower tang with 40% plus remaining, and moderate handling evidence. The wood is also very good as modified, showing a few light scratches, insect damage on the forend, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
