Exceptional Pre-World War II Colt First Issue Detective Special Double Action Revolver with Pearl Grips, Factory Letter, and Box

Manufactured in 1938 with standard markings, checkered trigger and hammer, and fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips with Colt Medallions. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as shipment to Von Lengerke & Antoine in Chicago on 23 June 1939. Includes a correct style, renumbered to match, replacement Colt maroon box with additional label marked "PEARL" as well as a retailer added label marked "V.L.&A./CHICAGO". ConditionExcellent, retains 99% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered very light handling marks and spotting, and a faint cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with some light edge and corner wear.
