This is a solid representative example of an original Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine as manufactured in World War II. "N" blade front and "H.I." elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a "7-44" dated Inland barrel and a Type I barrel band. Round blued bolt, milled "INLAND" trigger housing, unmarked button safety, "PI" operating rod, "M" magazine catch, "I-I" hammer and an unmarked sear. The main stock body is of the four-rivet, correct low wood configuration, with a circled "P" on the rear, "crossed cannons" and "R.I." on the grip, steel rivets on the leather cheekpiece, green canvas sling and a swiveling spring-loaded buttplate with proper casting marks. Unmarked magazine.
Very fine, retaining 85% plus original parkerized finish with scattered handling marks. Stock is also very fine with scattered dings and scratches, some fading on the grip cartouche, high edge wear, and some flaking on the cheekpiece. Mechanically excellent.
