"A" manufactured in 1959 and "B" manufactured in 1960. This cased set of Colt Single Action Army Revolvers was previously owned by famed Exhibition shooter Ernie Lind. Lind was a part of the shooting exhibition act "The Shooting Linds" with his wife. The duo was at the height of their fame during World War II and the post-war period as they toured military bases in the United States entertaining soldiers. According to the included notarized provenance letters (separate letters for each gun) signed by Lind's wife, they were also hired by Winchester to replace Ad Topperwein and his wife after retiring. These letters, which are written on Ernie Lind's letterhead, list each gun by model, serial number, and caliber. With the Topperwein Exhibition, The Shooting Linds would tour the United States, Canada and Mexico gathering crowds to see Ernie's trick shooting. The letters also state that while doing the shooting exhibition, Lind shot over ten million rounds of ammunition. The revolvers have standard markings and features including matching serial numbers on the frame, back strap, trigger guard, and both grip panels. The two revolvers are housed in a double gun hardwood case with an empty cartridge block in the center. Also included with the revolvers is a copy of Ernie Lind's "The Complete Book of Trick & Fancy Shooting."

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish and case colors with handling marks and patches of light pitting on the balance. The grips are very fine with crisp checkering overall and a few small dings at the bottom. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine with storage and handling marks and some high edge wear on the lining. An incredible opportunity to own a pair of Single Action Army Revolvers owned by a true exhibitionist!
