Manufactured 1897-1917 with standard markings. Fitted with beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights. Mounted with replacement smooth "perch belly" forearm and straight grip stock with a lightly engraved and serrated trapdoor buttplate (stock not drilled for trapdoor compartment). Very good as modified, retains 70% of the original blue finish and 80% of the original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The replacement wood shows filler around the edges to facilitate a tighter fit with the gun but otherwise minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
