Description:

Manufactured in 1882. There were approximately only 125 of these No. 4 pocket revolvers produced in the 17715-17790 serial number range, with all of Reid's various models numbered in one large range from 1 to approximately 18600. This model featured an interesting extractor on the left of the frame that served dual-purpose as a loading gate and rearward extractor. Full serial number on the butt, and partial serial number "85" on the cylinder pin, rear face of the cylinder, bottom of the barrel, and hand marking inside the left grip. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking, most notably on the cylinder and near the muzzle, revealing a smooth grey patina. The grips are also very fine with minor chips in both top front corners and otherwise light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Another of James Reid's interesting designs that is rarely seen!
