Manufactured in 1865-1873. This is a third type with iron frame and iron spur trigger sheath. Matching serial numbers are on the grip frame, barrel and both grip panels. The included period original black basket weave pattern cardboard trapezoidal box is extremely scarce. The box is partitioned for the revolver and accessories and contains a powder flask, oiler, two cavity bullet mold and a few lead balls. The survivability rate for these boxes was extremely low. Very few of these boxes are known to collectors. It will be likely be a long time before another such box comes up for public sale. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Very fine, retaining 70% plus bright original high polish blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. 98% age darkened original silver remains on the trigger sheath. The grips are fine with a couple tiny chips near the bottom, some minor handling marks and most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine showing minor wear. An attractive Remington New Model Pocket Percussion Revolver with extremely scarce, highly sought after trapezoidal box.
