Description:

Norm Flayderman estimated less than 500 of these No. 7 rifles were manufactured c. 1903-1906. They are built on the Model 1871 pistol actions. This example featured a blade and globe combination front sight, Lyman peep sight, standard markings, a checkered Schnabel tip forearm with contrasting tip insert, and a checkered pistol grip buttstock with hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Provenance: James Goergen; Lewis and Leyton Yearout; The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% of an faded, thin original finish exhibiting plum brown tones, 40% original case colors, gray and brown patina on the balance, and general mild wear. The wood is also fine and has mild wear on the otherwise crisp checkering on the fine wood with some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
